Guam - There's been a pitch made to allow the Guam National Guard to act as personnel for the Army's ballistic military defense system that has been planned as part of the military buildup. The Calvo Administration believes this could be extremely beneficial not only to the Guam Guard and the island, but to the federal government.
Officials are hoping the Department of Defense will see this as a win-win opportunity to create an economic opportunity for the island to develop Guam's military force as well as reducing the economic impact of the United States to have to staff the ballistic military defense system with personnel who would be rotated every three years to Guam.
