Guam - Local oncologist Dr. Sam Friedman's appointment may have been shot down by the 31st Guam Legislature, but Governor Eddie Baza Calvo continues to stand behind him. The Governor says no one disputed Dr. Friedman's message, just the way he relayed it, "I understand the disagreement, but I believe in diversity, and I believe in open communication.
Dr. Friedman spoke his mind; it came from his heart. He is a good doctor," stated Governor Calvo. He added that his administration will be working with Dr. Friedman to find a role where he can do his good work in our government.
During legislative session this week, all 14 senators who were present voted against confirming him to serve on the Guam Board of Medical Examiners.
