Only four ambulances up and running
Just because the Guam Fire Department got $200,000 last month to repair ambulances, it's not enough to solve the medic shortage, less than a handful remain up and running to serve the island's population.
Guam - Just because the Guam Fire Department got $200,000 last month to repair ambulances, it's not enough to solve the medic shortage, less than a handful remain up and running to serve the island's population.
GFD Spokesperson Captain Andy Arceo said, "We could have all the money in the world but because of our location we don't have the parts we have to order in and we are at the mercy of the shops that are fixing our vehicles because as much as we want it to be first priority they are not with all these other shops and we don't hold them to anything."
There are only four ambulances for the entire island they're stationed at Tamuning, Barrigada, Agat, Inarajan.
