Guam - Guam congressional delegate Madeleine Bordallo reintroduced a bill to expand the Department of Education's Impact Aid Program to cover the costs of educating children from the Freely Associated States. This program provides reimbursement to local schools for educating federally connected children.
However currently, the program currently does not provide such reimbursement. representatives from other affected jurisdictions such as delegates Eni Falemovaega of American Samoa, Gregorio Kilili Sablan of the CNMI, Pedro Pierluisi of Puerto Rico, Mike Honda of California, and Colleen Hanabusa of Hawaii joined Bordallo as original cosponsors of this legislation.
