Guam - Guam Federation of Teachers president Matt Rector will remain in his current position, after an election was held for the executive council on Friday. According to Rector, he received a message from the Election Committee early this morning saying that the results have been certified and that the incumbents have been reelected.
Tim Fedenko will remain as the GFT's vice-president, Sanjay Sharma will stay as the secretary and James Lujan will remain as the union's treasurer. Former GFT steward Carol Somerfleck and James Nichols ran against Rector and Fedenko, hoping for some changes in the union.
In the meantime, Rector says he hopes to move forward and continue to fight for the union.
