Guam - The Attorney General's Consumer Protection Unit is warning the community not to be duped if they receive a phone call from an individual claiming to be from a federal agency informing them that they have been awarded thousands of dollars under President Barack Obama's stimulus package. The AG's Office warns it's a scam.
In order to claim the grant the phony federal agent asks that you call another number, at which time you're given an approval number and asked to send in money via Western Union in order to claim the grant money.
If you've been contacted about this scam you're urged to call the AG's office at 475-3324, extension 171 or e-mail the information to [email protected].
