Guam - The Guam Shipyard has begun pumping around the clock, according to a release issued today, the diesel tank for the dry dock known as "Big Blue" is now empty. The tank held over 11,000 gallons of fuel and was emptied onto the Marianas Voyager.
Dewatering efforts continue on the dry dock's sideboard side machinery space. The space contains a lube oil tank that needs to be emptied before Big Blue is raised out of the water. A naval architect from Hawaii is on the scene to assist in dewatering plans.
To report debris or signs of oil in the water, call 564-USCG (8724).
