Guam - A 29-year-old man is behind bars after he struck a pedestrian near Adelup around 8:25pm Thursday evening. Sonny Saburo from Yigo was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, DUI with a .08 or more blood alcohol content with injuries, reckless driving, fraudulent use of a license plate, operating an unregistered vehicle, and mandatory insurance.
GPD spokesman officer AJ Balajadia says Saburo was traveling northbound on route 1 when he struck a 21-year-old man with his Toyota Tercel. The man has only been identified as being from Inarajan. He was taken to the Guam Memorial Hospital where a nursing supervisor says he is in stable condition. Police had to redirect traffic for a couple hours as they conducted their investigation.
In the meantime, Saburo was booked and confined.
