Guam - The Guam Police Department might have a new headquarters co-located on the JFK High School property in Upper Tumon. According to Captain Paul Suba, discussions and meetings have been underway with the Guam Economic Development Authority, the Department of Public Works and International Bridge Corporation (the contractor for the new high school).
Suba says a memorandum of agreement is expected to be signed to have a headquarters co-located on the JFK property. "That will house portions of the Tamuning-Tumon Precinct's officers, CAPE and CVPR folks and possible the satellite office with the courts so that people can come in and do business with the folks at that location." He added, "There was an exchange for GPD property on the ponding basin and GPD was able to get a strategic location on the corner closest to the intersection of JFK road and route."
Suba says the costs will be incurred by the contractor IBC and will be built at no cost to the department or taxpayers. He says it will be a 900-square foot facility; he adds that it is expected to be completed at the same time the JFK facility will be done.
