Guam - Public safety and the visa waiver program were among the issues discussed between Governor-elect Eddie Calvo and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano today. Lieutenant Governor-elect Ray Tenorio has been appointed to oversee public safety agencies and coordinate, direct and integrate their functions toward common goals.
Calvo also talked about Guam's longstanding request for visa waiver programs with Russia, China and the Philippines, stressing the need to have travel restrictions lifted to breed new markets and bring families closer together.
Calvo said, "We need the flexibility to leverage our unique geographic and economic position in the world."
