"Tangled" is the Walt Disney adaptation of Rapunzel, the story of a unknowing princess trapped in an isolated tower. Unbeknownst to Rapunzel (Mandy Moore), there are many spectacular things to experience outside of the 70 ft tall tower she calls home. Outlaw Flynn Rider (Zachary Levi) strikes a deal with her and the two embark on a journey full of action, laughs, and danger.
"Tangled" is full of lovable characters and the animation is amazing. The 3D effects are comfortable as well. Rapunzel's pet chameleon is a charming animal and will have children giggling with laughter throughout the film. The horse Maximus is also a very memorable character and his antics with Flynn really keep the theme of the movie light-hearted. While the story of Rapunzel is full of danger and evil, at the heart of this movie is the theme of youth being independent. Rapunzel is a naive, young woman who only knows the advice of her mother. But as her journey expands, she realizes that there is much more to the world than just the perspective that her mother provided.
"Tangled", like many Disney classics, is a fundamentally sound movie with riveting story-telling. Get caught up in the hairy mess tonight at Tango Theatres. It is family fun that everyone is sure to enjoy.
