18 unclaimed bodies laid to rest
Guam - 18 children who never received a proper burial were laid to rest at the Pigo Cemetery this morning in Anigua. The Catholic Pro-Life Committee for the Archdiocese of Hagatna holds these events each year for infants who are unclaimed.
Archbishop Anthony Apuron presided over the ceremony, saying, "That every person that comes into being from the very innocent and helpless child until its born becomes very precious in the sight of God."
Details about how the babies died were not revealed, but Esperansa Project spokesperson Dr. Marjorie DeBenedictis says many of the babies were likely aborted or miscarried.
