Guam - Despite information the Guam Fire Department confirmed Wednesday surrounding the death of an elderly man that was said to be a result of a lack of equipment, the U.S. Navy has confirmed that the man apparently did not die and remains in critical condition. GFD Spokesperson Joey San Nicolas told KUAM News that a fact-finding investigation was launched after the department learned that an elderly man died as a result of the department not having a c-collar device on the ambulance.
However, GFD today is now saying that the man is alive. Navy officials say the man is 78 years old and remains in critical condition at Naval Hospital following a slip-&-fall accident.
GFD meanwhile is still conducting an investigation into the incident and is experiencing a shortage of c-collars.
