Guam - The Guam Association of Realtors has invited their national counterparts on island to educate the community about the state of the current housing market. 2009 National Association of Realtors President Charles McMillan says the market for Guam is a lot more positive compared to the United States.

McMillan says the downpayment usually holds up people from buying a home; however encourages residents to take advantage of the federal grants available.

"There have been a number of programs that municipalities have that based on federal community block grants and other funding in cities that will augment on new buyers whether young or old that qualify as first time homebuyers," he said.
