Guam - The Department of Public Works has removed 800 tires from its compound. In the agency's weekly status report, DPW reports that employees have been working with the contractor on weekends to remove the tires. An estimated 20,000 tires still have to be removed from the facility.

A policy was also reinstituted to prevent the storage of unused tires at DPW in the future. The report also states that the Guam Police Department is working with the General Services Agency to remove the 42 abandoned GPD vehicles on the compound.

In the meantime, Gresco Environmental is awaiting test results on the oil drums before determining what type of method will be used to have them removed.
