A night of celebration with a purpose — the Guam Women’s Club brought the community together with sequins, soul, and a whole lot of spirit filled the room all to raise scholarship funds that help Guam’s students pursue higher education and a brighter future.

The GWC held their  70th Annual Mardi Gras with the theme Glam, Rock & Funk Fest. The annual celebration, benefitting the GWC’s Scholarship Fund, was a festive affair with dancing, a live Mardi Gras jazz band to lead the parade, a costume contest and choreographed performances from the Guam Women’s Club.

But the highlight of the evening was the surprise coronation of our very own Jason Salas as King Rex for 2026.

Every year, the GWC bestows this honor to a gentleman in our community and this year, Jason was chosen to wear the crown. He was genuinely surprised but needless to say he embraced the responsibility with pride and had a great time celebrating with the women and supporters of this very import community organization.

The funds raised from this unforgettable evening go directly toward scholarships, support education and empowering students across Guam year after year.

As they say in New Orleans: let the good times roll! And that they did in the celebration of community!
