Frank Blas, Jr. & Dr. Mary Okada officially in race for Adelup

The race for Adelup is heating up. Speaker Frank Blas, Jr. and former Guam Community College president Dr. Mary Okada officially launched their campaign for governor and lieutenant governor, respectively, under the republican ticket.
The Blas-Okada team made the official announcement at the Crowne Plaza Resort in Tumon earlier this evening, among a gathering of supporters. Blas announced, "We need a governor and lieutenant governor who understsnds that pubic safety is not just a talking point, but a duty. We need an administration that treats healthcare as a necessity not a privilege. We need an economy that works for local families, not just outside interests."
And Okada said, "Our island is facing serious challenges - families are struggling with the high cost of living. Healthcare costs are underwhelming, schools are under pressure, public safety concerns are real. And our people want a government that will work better for them and their island."
Blas and Okada will face off against fellow republicans Vice Speaker Tony Ada and businessman E.J. Calvo in the primary. Under the democratic ticket, Senator Joe San Agustin and former senator Dwayne San Nicolas, who recently picked=-up their candidate packets, will go head-to- head with Lieutenant Governor Josh Tenorio and his running mate Senator Tina Muna Barnes.
