Man arrested after knife threats in Maite apartment
A Maite man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly threatening several people with a knife during a family dispute.
According to a magistrate’s complaint filed in superior court, 27-year-old KN Billy had been drinking for much of the day on January 2 when an argument inside an apartment at Robat Apartments turned physical. Investigators say Billy punched one family member, then brandished a kitchen knife at two others, threatening them as they tried to intervene.
The complaint alleges billy also snatched and damaged phones as family members attempted to call 911, forcing two of the victims to run downstairs and hide. A witness told police billy later approached a vehicle outside the apartment, pointed the knife at the driver, and attempted to open the door before the car drove off.
Police arrested Billy just after 5 that evening. He is charged with attempted second-degree robbery, attempted theft of a motor vehicle with a deadly weapon allegation, two counts of terrorizing with a deadly weapon, interfering with the reporting of family violence, and criminal mischief.
