GCC pins first cohort of registered nurses
Congratulations are in order for the Guam Community College’s first cohort of registered nurses, who were newly-pinned on Thursday.
20 new registered nurses achieved this milestone through GCC's associate degree in nursing–registered nurse program. The program launched in March of this year as a pathway to earn registered nurse certification.
It was back in May when GCC president Dr. Mary Okada announced that the full cost of the inaugural cohort would be covered by GCC’s foundation board of governors, relieving students of thousands of dollars in tuition and fees.
Upon completion of the program, students are now qualified to take the National Council Licensure Examination for registered nurses to become locally licensed registered nurses.
