Astumbo Elementary earns major boost in health inspection score
The Guam Department of Education is applauding Astumbo Elementary School for a significant jump in its public health inspection rating — moving from a 22/C last year to a 14/B this year.
The eight-demerit improvement marks a major step forward in the school’s ongoing work to strengthen sanitation and safety standards. GDOE says student health remains a top priority, and this year’s results reflect the dedication of the AES faculty, staff, and support partners.
Principal Jonathan Pilarca thanked his team, GDOE leadership, Guam Cleaning Masters, and the Facilities and Maintenance Division for their critical role in the turnaround.
Astumbo Elementary plans to continue building on these gains — committing to a clean, safe, and supportive learning environment for students, staff, and families.
