Another delay has been ordered in the long-pending sexual conduct case involving Nicholas Wayne Moore — a case that will only move forward after his separate murder trial concludes.

Moore appeared before Judge Vernon Perez , where prosecutors reiterated he’s accused of having sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl in late 2016 and early 2017. But Judge Perez made clear the case remains a second scheduling priority, with Moore currently tied up in the 2020 murder trial of Michael Castro before Judge Maria Cenzon.

That trial was paused after defense attorney David Lujan fell ill, discharging the jury. Moore’s legal team expects proceedings to restart in January, with clarity by mid-February. Prosecutors say the off-island victim in the sexual conduct case remains in touch and is waiting for trial.

The court set February 16 for the next scheduling review. Moore remains on house arrest and may leave home only for approved purposes.
