Bonita Baby celebrates 10 years

Walking through the doors of Bonita Baby isn’t just stepping into a boutique — it’s stepping into a home filled with love, memory, and the spirit of a woman who built something beautiful for her family and her community. Even two years after her passing, the presence of founder Jessica Leon Guerrero Stout is still deeply felt — in every design, every detail, and every heartbeat of this space now carried forward by her daughter.
You can’t help but feel the warmth and love that Jessica was known for — a gentle reminder that her legacy lives on through the walls of Bonita Baby and the family she poured her heart into. The second I stepped in, I felt her presence.
Jessica founded Bonita Baby with a vision rooted in Chamoru culture, family, and pride. Even while battling an aggressive cancer diagnosis, she continued creating, dreaming, and nurturing the space she believed would outlive her. Today, her daughter Celia Anderson carries that vision forward — honoring not just a business, but a mother’s lifelong love story.
"This year we are celebrating 10 years of Bonita Baby and serving Guam families, the company started in 2014 by my mother, she passed in 2022, but she asked her family to keep the business going for her, for her children, and for her future grandkids, and for all the customers that had supported her since day one," said Celia.
For Celia, this journey isn’t just about keeping the doors open — it’s about preserving her mother’s spirit, her creativity, and the love she gave so freely. "I definitely feel her light, and her presence every time I visit the store, I think she definitely guides me in everything that we do," she said.
Bonita Baby now stands as more than a storefront — it is a living tribute. A reminder that even in loss, love endures, and legacies bloom. Margarita Leon Guerrero, Jessica's mother, shared, "She said 'Mama, continue opening my shop, my girl might want to run it.' And yes, right now she is doing well - taking care, I don't know where she is coming from, everything that the mom does, she's doing it right now, providing the store with what we need."
Along with items that they are known for, Celia says, "I'm definitely proud of being able to introduce new designs and new colors into the store. We've also expanded our line to include educational toys like puzzles, we have rattles, pillows, more blankets, and overall just more products in the store."
And to mark Bonita Baby's 10-year anniversary, Celia was named one of the Mariana Islands' 100 Women in Business who said the biggest honor is continuing the work her mom began.
