Adelup delivers special Veterans Day message

With Tuesday being Veterans Day, we honor the brave men and women who have worn the uniform of the United States armed forces. Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and Lieutenant Governor Josh Tenorio said in a special message, "For the people of Guam, service to our nation is deeply personal. Our island’s patriotism was forged through real experiences with war — from the sacrifices of our World War II survivors and martyrs, to the courage of those who continue to defend freedom today. Because of this history, our sons and daughters have answered the call of duty with pride and distinction."
As we have reported, Guam’s per capita enlistment is among the highest in the nation, a testament to the loyalty and love our people hold for country and island. "Every flag raised, every deployment served, and every life lost reminds us that freedom is never free. Each of us knows a family member, a friend, or a neighbor who has served," said Tenorio.
Both leaders ask us take time today to thank our veterans, to honor their sacrifice and to remember that their service continues to shape the strength and spirit of our island.
And to all the veterans out there, thank you for your service. Happy Veterans Day.
