A man is facing charges after allegedly strangling a woman during a domestic dispute. 

29-year old Kioni Que Leon Guerrero Quitugua, was charged with strangulation and family violence after police say he assaulted the woman when she confronted him about leaving an infant unattended.

Officers observed bruises and cuts on her face, neck, and arms. She told police Quitugua put her in a headlock until she nearly lost consciousness and continued attacking her even after she tried to defend herself.

Quitugua refused to speak with investigators without an attorney. He was released on $3,000 personal recognizance and faces up to four years in prison if convicted.
