Guam’s top leaders are calling on Washington to take swift action on the island’s missile defense plans.

Congressman James Moylan and Governor Lou Leon Guerrero sent a joint letter to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth urging the reconvening of an economic adjustment committee. They say the unprecedented scale of the enhanced integrated air and missile defense project requires an interagency response to minimize negative effects on the community.

The letter cites past success with Camp Blaz construction, when an EAC helped coordinate agencies and address local impacts. Guam’s leaders say the same proactive approach is needed now—especially as the island braces for the demands of military expansion and national security readiness.
