Kmart hosts bingo day with seniors in celebration of 30th anniversary

While Senior Citizens Appreciation Day wrapped-up last month, the appreciation for our man'amko continued at Kmart. Kmart is celebrating 30 years on Guam and on Monday, one portion of the store transformed into a bingo hall for Guam’s seniors.
Kmart Guam store manager Joyce Bonzo told KUAM News about the event, saying, "In order to engage the community as part of our 30th birthday celebration, we have our Senior Discount Day that we run once a month. So for the birthday celebration, we decided to invite the senior centers to come play bingo with us. Kina was instrumental in coordinating with all of our senior centers. We have free gifts and giveaways and they come in to play with us for an hour."
A handful of village senior centers participated in the event. While all participants got free goody bags, winners walked away with household necessities. HR manager Kina Duenas added, "We had positive feedback so far. They’re asking when is our next one. "
Bonzo also said, "We love our seniors, and we’d love to do more events like this in the future and bring them back in. They seemed to have a really good time. A lot of them really enjoyed it."
But no doubt the real prize is the time spent together.
