The Year-Round In-School Youth Program’s deadline has officially been extended to Sept. 30, 2025.

High School Juniors are encouraged to apply for this workforce readiness initiative and receive paid hands-on experience.

“We conducted some outreach through community Town Halls and school presentations,” said Gov. Leon Guerrero. “Our goal is to drive up enrollment and get more students engaged in this program that will give them real-world experience while they are still in school. This is about preparing our youth with the tools, training, and opportunities they need to succeed in Guam’s workforce.”

The Year-Round In-School Youth Program includes a two-week Winter Session and a one-week Spring Session focused on classroom-based instruction that provides courses in professional development, communications, customer service, and leadership training.

These sessions prepare students for a six-week paid Summer Internship where they are matched with a private sector employer to gain hands-on experience in real work settings. Students earn stipends during each session.

“By extending the deadline, we’re making sure more students have a chance to take part. We know this program works, but we need to ensure more students and parents are aware of the benefits of this program,” said Tenorio. “We also want business partners who take part to succeed as their participation is an essential part of this program.”
