SIFA Learning Academy secures temporary campus at Guam Community College

An update on Science Is Fun and Awesome Learning Academy Charter School, the school announced Thursday, it has found a temporary home at the Guam Community College.
The home of the Manta Rays will start the new school year at GCC’s Mangilao campus, while continuing its search for a permanent site.
This comes after a request to temporarily occupy recently decommissioned Guam Department of Education campuses: Chief Brodie and Lyndon B. Johnson Elementary Schools.
SIFA students will be housed in 10 classrooms located at the front of the campus, to make pick-up and drop-off more convenient for families.
In a statement, SIFA Director of Planning, Compliance, and Research Ron Ravela said, “We could not have expected a safer and more supportive environment for learning.”
With GCC President Dr. Mary Okada adding, “When we were approached to consider hosting SIFA classes on our campus, the question was never should we—it was how do we make it work?”
The new school year is set to begin Tuesday, Sept. 2.
