Guam - The Department of Public Health is looking into eight cases of possible foodborne illness at Finegayan Elementary School. According to Division of Environmental Health administrator Tom Nadeau, officials went to the Dededo school on Wednesday to take food samples from yesterday's lunch.
Department of Education acting superintendent Rob Malay says it's likely not a result of the cafeteria food as the situation was isolated and had no effect on any students who ate the same food at Upi Elementary School up in Yigo. Malay suspects the stomach flu may be circulating through the school as even the principal is out sick.
Nadeau says his staffers are working to gather information from affected students.
