In a race where every vote counts to win the Democratic Party presidential nomination, Guam Democratic Party chair, superdelegate and former senator Pilar Lujan announced her support for Hillary Clinton today. Lujan saying, "After taking a close look at the candidates in this race, I was more impressed by Senator Clinton's ability to meet the challenges of the presidency: end the war, reinvigorate the economy, and provide universal healthcare."

She also stated of Clinton, "When she becomes the first woman president, she will think of the people of Guam and their aspirations." With Lujan pledging her support to Clinton, it's now a dead tie between Guam's total of 9 votes will go when they're announced on the convention floor in Denver, Colorado in August.

Clinton and Barack Obama both have picked up four votes apiece. National committeeman for the Democratic Party of Guam Senator Ben Pangelinan remains unpledged as to endorsing either candidate, but he has said that he has spoken with both camps and is weighing which one will be the best choice to provide for the needs of the people of Guam.

Pangelinan is expected to announce who he will support very soon.
