Guam - There was a parade of nations at the University of Guam Field House today as the Guam Girl Scouts participated in their annual World Thinking Day. More than 600 girls from various troops on the island participated in the event that teaches them about other countries and cultures.
Guam Girl Scouts Director Vickie Fish told KUAM News, "Each girl brings ideas, they visit the displays of the other troops and try the foods offerings, they offer a dime for that privilege. This year while it's usually a nickel offering, this year it's a dime so that we're also able to assist the Girl Guide in Haiti. We're making a direct connection with the girl guides there and the Guam Girl Scouts know that being a girl scout means being a sister."
The annual event wrapped up with the Friendship Circle. Next month, the local organization celebrates its 75th anniversary.
