Authorities in Saipan believe a gunman responsible for killing four people and injuring six others is dead. Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Officer Jason Tarkong says there were two different crimes scenes in Saipan, where the suspect, described only as being an Asian male, opened fire.
He killed four people and the committed suicide by turning the gun on himself.
CNMI authorities have not released any information about where the shootings occurred or the ages or names of the dead and injured.
Eyewitness reports from CNMI residents indicate that one shooting occurred in Marpi, while another incident occurred near the airport. DPS officials are currently working on providing more details into the incident.
