The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is again seeking public input on a New Emergency Shoreline Protection Plan in East Hagåtña.

The project targets a 2,100-foot stretch of south marine corps drive, an area Usace says is at imminent risk of collapse due to severe shoreline erosion.

A previously proposed revetment has now been replaced with a tentatively selected plan to build a 1,630-foot precast concrete seawall along Trinchera Beach to protect the roadway and vital public utilities from wave damage and storm surge.

Residents are encouraged to review the revised draft integrated feasibility report and environmental assessment and share their input during a 30-day public comment period now through Sept. 8.

A public meeting will be held both in-person and virtually on Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Hagåtña Mayor’s Office.

A 30-day public comment

period runs from Aug. 8

through Sept. 8, 2025.
