Husband indicted for murder in brutal death of wife

A man has been formally indicted for murder in the brutal death of his wife. On Thursday, a Superior Court of Guam grand jury returned a true bill, charging 61-year-old Vince Yatar with murder as a first-degree felony, including a special allegation of using a deadly weapon.
The indictment follows a disturbing sequence of events that unfolded on the evening of July 14, when Yatar reportedly drove to GPD’s Central Precinct in Sinajana, covered in blood and claiming an injury to his hand. Officers responding to his vehicle discovered the lifeless body of his wife, Diana Rose Lagman, with multiple stab wounds.
According to charging documents, lagman suffered over 50 lacerations to her face, arms, torso, and back. A bloodied pocket knife was recovered from the front seat. Her death was later ruled a homicide.
Yatar remains in custody at the department of corrections on a $500,000 cash bail. He is expected to appear before Magistrate Judge Sean Brown to enter a plea. If he pleads not guilty, the case will proceed to trial.
