Scam Alert: Facebook Driver’s License scam resurfaces

A new fake Facebook page has popped up attempting to lure Guam residents into a driver’s license scam.
The page claims to be “100% legit & registered.” It entices residents by claiming that they can waive the written and road test portions of the driver’s license process.
DRT is Guam’s only authorized source for driver’s licenses and identification cards. The written and road tests are critical steps of the graduated process to full licensure, and are legal requirements needed to become a licensed driver on Guam.
All residents must undergo these tests to help keep Guam’s roadways safe.
Residents are warned against falling for this scam.
Report and delete this Facebook page if you come across it.
Residents are encouraged to verify any online or text message claims that provide a shortcut to DRT services by reaching DRT’s Call Center at 671-635-1840/1841/7651 or emailing pinadmin@revtax.guam.gov
Businesses that require a driver’s license or Guam Identification as part of the validation process are also encouraged to verify the legitimacy of licenses and identification by contacting DRT via email or phone.
Lastly, DRT reminds residents to work with an authorized and duly licensed driving school to get the necessary requirements for the graduated driver's license process.
It includes taking the written test, accumulating road hours, and taking the road test.
The written test is provided in English and other languages. An interpreter can also be scheduled to assist with converting the written exam into a verbal exam if needed. Inquire with DRT's Call Center for more information.
