The Office of Homeland Security and the Office of Civil Defense, in coordination with the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center, will host multiple training opportunities at the OHS-OCD facility in Agana Heights.

The courses with revised dates follow:

Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Social Media Tools and Techniques

 The eight-hour course is offered at no cost to eligible participants and is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to use social media tools and techniques for intermediate-level messaging, strategy, and increased situational awareness. 

Attendees for the course include emergency management personnel and partners from the government of Guam, federal, military, private, and non-profit organizations.

Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Social Media Engagement Strategies

The eight-hour course is offered at no cost to eligible participants and is designed to provide participants with knowledge and skills using social media tools to engage individuals and volunteer organizations for assistance during an emergency. 

Participants will learn about social media engagement techniques, individual and organizational roles in crisis communication, and Virtual Operations Support Teams.

Attendees for the course include emergency management personnel and partners from the government of Guam, federal, military, private, and non-profit organizations.

 

Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Planning for Disaster Debris Management

The eight-hour course is offered at no cost to eligible participants and is designed to enable participants to identify debris management components and the best planning practices using existing plan examples and case studies. 

Attendees for the course include emergency management personnel and partners from the government of Guam, federal, military, private, and non-profit organizations.

Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Leveraging Tools for Coordinated Community Disaster Communications

The half-day course is offered at no cost to eligible participants and will provide community and volunteer groups, state and local government agencies, and other stakeholder groups with relevant information and practical exercises that will improve their knowledge and skills to better serve the communication needs of their communities.

Attendees for the course include emergency management personnel and partners from the government of Guam, federal, military, private, and non-profit organizations.
