As conflict in the Middle East raises fears of a broader global war, Archbishop Ryan has issued a heartfelt message calling on the faithful and all people to turn their hearts to God in prayer.

Quoting Pope Leo XIV’s Corpus Christi homily, the archbishop reminded us that “Jesus remains present in our midst,” especially in times of fear, illness, and uncertainty.

He thanked the Catholic community for fervent prayers, particularly the rosary and other devotions for peace, and urged continued prayer for military members, world leaders, and the innocent civilians affected by war.

With reports of a possible ceasefire between Israel and Iran, Archbishop Ryan stressed the importance of hope and the power of prayer, saying each one matters.

Currently en route to Rome to receive his pallium from the pope, Archbishop Ryan says he carries Guam and the Marianas in his heart and has asked the Holy Father and fellow archbishops to pray for our islands and the Pacific.
