A man accused of sexually assaulting two young girls and assaulting a woman is behind bars—after leading police on a chase and escaping into the jungle.

Twenty-two-year-old Pitson Nikonas was arrested, after police found him asleep at his home after he fled a traffic stop, crashed a car, and ran into a nearby jungle.

Nikonas is facing multiple charges, including two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, attempted sexual assault, and assault.

According to court documents, a girl told police that when she was 13, Nikonas entered her bedroom, pushed her onto the bed, touched her inappropriately, and a 9-year-old girl entered the room and confronted him, prompting him to leave.

That same younger girl later told police Nikonas also assaulted her when she was 11.

In a separate incident last month, police say Nikonas damaged a home and a vehicle during an argument. A witness told officers Nikonas was drunk when he broke windows, kicked a woman, and shattered the back window of a car.

On Tuesday night, officers attempted to pull Nikonas over, but he fled and eventually crashed before fleeing on foot.

Nikonas denied the sexual assault allegations but admitted to fleeing from police and damaging property.

His total bail is set at $10,000 cash.
