A Superior Court jury convicts a man for committing a string of burglary.

Thirty-two-year-old David Anthony Juanico is charged with burglary and theft of a motor vehicle as second-degree felonies, theft of a firearm and fraudulent use of a license plate as third-degree felonies, and theft of property, driving while impaired, and having an open container as misdemeanors.

It took a jury just four hours to deliberate.

Prosecutors are set to ask Judge Vernon P. Perez that Juanico serve 31 years in prison.

On the night of Feb. 5, 2025, just before 9 p.m., police spotted a reported stolen vehicle traveling southbound on Route 4 near Dero Road, a white Mazda CX-5.

When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver refused to pull over. Moments later, the vehicle slowed, and the driver jumped out while it was still moving, then tried to flee on foot.

After a short pursuit, officers confronted the suspect, who initially refused to comply with commands. Police drew their service weapon before the man finally surrendered.

The suspect was identified as David Anthony Juanico. Officers noted signs of intoxication, including the smell of alcohol and bloodshot, watery eyes.

Investigators later linked Juanico to multiple reports — including a license plate theft on Feb. 4 and a burglary where a firearm and vehicle were stolen from a home in Sinajana.

Police recovered an open beer can from the Mazda’s cup holder and found damage to the vehicle. After being read his rights, juanico initially declined to speak but later admitted to breaking into the home, stealing the keys, the vehicle, and a glock 43x firearm.
