Teen faces child pornography charges; case delayed to review documents

In the Superior Court of Guam Monday a hearing for a Tiyan High School senior accused of sharing a nude photo online was delayed.
Judge Vernon Perez granted a continuance in the case of 18-year-old Alexander Santos. Prosecutors said they received a large volume of documents over the weekend that need more time to review.
Santos is facing multiple charges, including dissemination of child pornography, possession of child pornography, and unlawful distribution of images.
Defense Attorney Samuel Teker did not object to the delay, but asked the court to secure key digital evidence, including IP addresses and computer data tied to the messages.
Judge Perez agreed that additional time was needed to clarify the evidence. Teker also confirmed there were no new allegations.
According to court documents, the 17-year-old victim told police that Santos sent a nude photo of her through instagram. Santos allegedly admitted to sending the image to two people, but refused to name them.
Police say the image was found on his phone, which was recovered after conflicting statements about its location.
