It was a mission of vigilance, partnership, and purpose.

The crew of the USCGC Oliver Henry just wrapped up a 21-day patrol under Operation Rematau, one that set a new milestone for maritime security in the region.

For the first time, shoreside patrols were conducted on both Rota and Tinian, CNMI, as Coast Guard boarding officers took their mission ashore, strengthening security from sea to land.

Between April 13 and May 4, the Oliver Henry covered 3,566 nautical miles, logging 256 hours of patrol time. That included participation in a massive 102,000 square nautical mile search for a missing fisherman and U.S. navy sailor, underscoring the Coast Guard’s commitment to saving lives.

The crew also deepened relationships with CNMI partners, hosting a ship tour for the department of public safety, and delivering critical parts to the naval mobile construction battalion on Tinian.
