After hosting a successful Kick the Fat 5k/10k Run/Walk and Wellness Fair, the Pay-Less Markets Community Foundation proudly presents a $40,000 donation to eight local non-profit organizations.

The check presentation ceremony took place at Pay-Less Markets' corporate headquarters in Hagåtña, where beneficiaries, PMCF members, and KTF committee members gathered to commemorate the ongoing success of this beloved island tradition.

As Guam’s largest 5K/10K event, Kick the Fat has become much more than a race, it’s a movement that unites people of all ages in the spirit of health, giving, and community.

Proceeds from the event were distributed to eight local nonprofit organizations making a difference in health, wellness, and social services: Bake Their Day, Inc., Guam Animals in Need, Guam Catholic Pro-Life Committee, Guam Football Association, Guma’ Mami, Inc., LP Untalan Middle School PTO, Palau Community Association of Guam, Santa Barbara Catholic Church Food Pantry

“For 29 years, the annual Kick the Fat event has not only encouraged a healthier Guam but also empowered local nonprofits to carry out their vital missions,” said Kathy Calvo, President/CEO of Pay-Less Markets. “As we celebrate our 75th anniversary, we are proud to continue the tradition of giving back to the community that supports us.”

“This event embodies the inafa’maolek value of unity. We are deeply thankful to every participant, volunteer, and sponsor who made this year’s event a success,” added Marie Benito, President of the Pay-Less Markets Community Foundation.
