Four Guam Department of Education schools achieve six-year WASC accreditation

Four Guam Department of Education schools are celebrating a major milestone in academic excellence.
C.H.B. Price Elementary, Liguan Elementary, V.S.A. Benavente Middle School, and Southern High School have each been awarded a six-year accreditation by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges, or WASC.
The accreditation affirms that these schools meet rigorous standards in curriculum, instruction, student achievement, and leadership, ensuring quality education for Guam's students.
Superintendent Dr. Erik Swanson praised the accomplishment, calling it a reflection of the hard work and commitment from school staff, faculty, and the entire school community.
This six-year status, effective through June 2031, means brighter futures for students and reinforces GDOE’s dedication to excellence, growth, and opportunity.
Congratulations to all four schools on this outstanding achievement!
