Archbishop-Elect Ryan Jimenez presided over his last “mass of thanksgiving” on Saipan as he prepares to begin his new service on Guam this Thursday.

The outgoing Bishop of the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa presided over his last church services on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota in the past weeks after Pope Francis named him to lead the Archdiocese of Agana.

Jimenez first came to the CNMI as a migrant worker in 1995 and taught at Eskuelan San Francisco de Borja on Rota. He was ordained to the priesthood in 2003.

Over the weekend, the Pope appointed Father Charlie A. Borja as Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa.

There is no word yet on who the next bishop will be in the CNMI.
