A 29-year-old man is convicted of repeatedly raping a 13-year-old girl.

A superior court jury found Rayjohn Quichocho Lizama guilty of multiple counts of first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The abuse occurred between May and August of last year.

At the time of his arrest, Lizama admitted to police that he raped the child three times and molested her several other times.

Still, he wanted to fight the charges in local court.

Lizama faces life in prison and will have to register as a sex offender.

In response, the attorney general says the only justice for pedophiles is to permanently lock them up.
