Three arrested in officer-involved shooting

Investigators have identified the three people placed under arrest in connection to an officer-involved shooting and chase that ended in Chalan Pago early Sunday morning.
Twenty-year-old Ethan Jarred Aguero was arrested on suspicion of burglary, attempted murder, use of a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm without ID, guilt established by complicity, conspiracy transfer, sell or loan a firearm without a valid ID and resisting arrest.
Twenty-year-old Vicente Trevor Aguero was arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft of property, criminal mischief, conspiracy, destruction of evidence, guilt established by complicity and resisting arrest.
Eighteen-year-old Kawai’i-Lei Mendiola was arrested on suspicion of reckless conduct, eluding a police officer, burglary, conspiracy, guilt established by complicity, no driver’s license and disobeyed a red traffic light and stop sign.
Video of the chase and shooting, which occurred around 1 am Sunday, was circulated on social media.
Officers with the Guam Police Department responded to a burglary at Hyrule Market in Mangilao when officers gave chase.
Authorities said both the suspects and officers opened fire.
No injuries were reported.
The trio was taken into custody after their car crashed along Route 3 in Chalan Pago.
They remain in the Department of Corrections waiting to appear before a magistrate judge in Superior Court.
GPD’S Internal Affairs Section has also been activated to investigate the officers involved in the shooting.
