A driver with expired car tags was placed under arrest after being caught with drugs.

Muhammad Ali Gibbs, 53, is charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

According to court documents, officers found a plastic baggie with meth in the front passenger floorboard area by the defendant’s feet.

He allegedly denied owning the drugs.

Gibbs allegedly telling police he did not know how the meth got there, admitting he is a user.

He also allegedly pulled a baggie of meth out of his pants but told officers he did not know how it got there.

Gibbs then asked authorities to take him and his passenger to the gas station so he could reload their phones, documents state.
