Southern High School students were released around 9 a.m. this morning due to a foul smell coming from the hallway near the kitchen.

Units with the Guam Fire Department responded to the gas odor report but got negative findings from their air monitoring tests. It was upon investigation; teams found that the source of the leak was from a faulty gas valve and corroded pipe.

Meantime, the private company supplying LP gas was called to the southern campus and repaired the gas valve.

Classes will resume tomorrow.
