How many on their daily commute this afternoon saw the thick, black plume of smoke above?

According to Guam Fire Department Spokesperson Lt. Nick Garrido, at 2:16 p.m., the 911 Call Center received multiple reports of a fire coming from the Harmon area.

GFD units made their way to the roadside junkyard where several vehicles were in flames. Additional assistance was provided by Navy Fire and Guam Airport Fire.

This marks the eighth fire at the site.

As KUAM reported, it was in February where GFD rushed to the same location where they found fifteen cars on fire.

Garrido said that although no evacuations were necessary, residents and motorists are asked to be mindful of the ongoing operations
