Commonwealth Casino Commission grants extension for settlement negotiation

April 22nd is the new, final-final deadline the Commonwealth Casino Commission gave its executive director and Imperial Pacific International to finalize a settlement agreement.
CCC Executive Director Andrew Yeom said, "Hopefully and this will be the last whether it is signed by the AG or not we are going to proceed with the revocation"
The commission approved the extension and seemed to lean towards a settlement rather than voting to revoke their exclusive gaming license. In last minute negotiations this week, it was revealed that the Attorney General’s office did not find the draft settlement to be what they described as ‘legally sufficient.’”
"The settlement agreement is probably the only thing that can save the IPI as well as the gaming industry and for that reason I think we deserve this time period," said CCC Vice-Chair Ralph Demapan.

Rep. Marissa Flores took issue with the CCC’s discussion of the settlement agreement process during their special meeting Wednesday.
She said, "You're out of order. It's not a settlement hearing. Why are you discussing a settlement. Your job is decide whether or not to revoke. Delay the vote or vote. That's your job right now at this point."
It remains to be seen if April 22 will truly be decision day.
